Hi

We are using latest Kalitte DD along with latest Telerik AJAX controls in our website.
When I try to load a dashboard configured with widgets, sometimes I get into the following error. It seems to happen only in IE.

A couple of months ago another developer who was with our company worked with a Kalitte developer regarding this issue. At that time we were using an older version of Telerik. The resolution suggested at that time was to use the latest Telerik version. Now we have moved to the latest version of Telerik. The problem still shows up.

Any ideas what could be happening ? any other pointers ?

Unfortunately - I cannot share any reproducible code as I am not able to reproduce this outside of our application.

Has this been reported by anyone else?

I appreciate any help regarding this matter.

Here are the error details:

Hi Tansu

I realized we have the 3.0 version of DD and so I downloaded the latest 3.1 version and installed it on my machine.

With the latest 3.1 version, so far into my testing, I no longer get into the 'dom is null' issue.

I am not sure if I install the latest DD on top of 3.0 version - is my dev license on my box still valid? - or does it go into a 'trial' mode? I didn't see any issues on my dev box so far.

But, when I installed the 3.1 MSI on our build machine, during the build, it is showing a 'demo mode licese - your license has expired' message.

Do we need to pay for the newer version? or is the license good for the latest version? Are there any specific steps I need to take when upgrading to a newer version?

I greatly appreciate you help.

Thank you
Regards

Hi Tansu

Thank you for the quick reply and email.

I said it too soon. Unfortunately, the problem still seems to come up.

But this time, I isolated the problem - removed all our app code. And, now I have a VS 2008 project with Telerik and DD 3.1 build where I can reproduce the problem.

The problem seems to occurs when the browser takes a little longer to download a bunch of CSS files we have in our <head> section of the master page.

When I combine them all into one page, it seems to be working fine. I am not 100% sure why that is so. Even with them all combined into one page (it happened once in about 30 times), if it takes a longer, I think, it is failing with the 'dom' is null error.

If you want to take a look at it, I have the project posted on our ftp site. I will send you the ftp site info via an email.

Thank you

Regards

Hi,

Probably a server exception occurred. Can you please debug it and check whether you had an exception when you close widget.

Regards.

Hi,

We cannot share DD source code. I wanted to mean, your widget can have an exception.

If problem continues I need a sample project illustrating error.

Hi,

We are using kalitte Dynamic Dashboard version 3.1 along with telerik version 2010.1.415.35 in our web application.

When we run our application on Firefox then it runs perfectly but in case of IE a javascript error occurs i.e. 'DOM' is null or not an object.
In case of this error, dashboard is not displayed. When we refresh the page then sometimes it loads the dashboard and display it and sometimes
displays the same error of 'DOM' is null or not an object. we tried alot on this error but didn't get success.

Please somebody help or suggest any workaround to solve this problem.

Regards,
Vipul
